What's In Here
Surprised by the simplicity of the layout? I believe the key to a successful business web page is subtle colors, a clean, clear typeface, and generous use of white space. If you happen to be a rock band, or make your living in a similarly colorful way. I can help you, too.
I'm following my own advice and starting simple. Unless you happen to have a fully-realized vision for your website, simple is best. I build sites to be expandable and versatile.
These pages are based on templates. The splash page that you first encountered was based on a design by Chris Blunden, and this layout is from Openwebdesign.com. If that seems like cheating, I'll just note that a webpage like this one, using templates, would cost you one or two hundred dollars. If I built one from scratch, it would cost thousands of dollars, take weeks, and might not be as good. These templates are open source, which means that we can make any changes we want to them, so a lot of good options are available.
If this is your first webpage project, I encourage you to explore this site. I=ve made several dozen websites, and have a good idea of what sorts of problems you might encounter, and how to avoid some and solve the others.
Here are samples of current projects based on templates. The first three are in development (thus the "unfinished" look), with the Burney Falls Motel project on hiatus. The Greywolf site is a major project, with 11 proposed sections that will have up to 400 pages.
